An Exhibition Celebrating Art in Schools @ the Nunnery Gallery
This exhibition provided a rare opportunity to share some of the exceptional artwork being produced by local young people working with 19 professional artists and performers. This exhibition is dedicated to the work of 15 local schools and is supported through the long standing partnership between Bow Arts Trust and St Paul’s Way Community School in Poplar.
Year 10 art students worked with artist Basil Olton and produced sculptural voids influenced by contemporary artist Eva Hesse. The GCSE group was introduced to drawing voids from a studio installation, they then worked on the idea of contradictions and produced sculptural forms made from chicken wire, wire rods and mesh, finally they used modroc to create some solid area with in the sculptural void.
