Over the course of the summer term Miss Bader’s Year 11 Photography students took part in a workshop series run by Open-City. Four workshops, including a tour of the Gherkin, took place as part of ‘The Great St Helens Public Art Space programme’. The Sculpture Space is home to the City of London’s new programme of temporary public artworks. Developed as part of a long-term environmental enhancement project, the Sculpture Space aims to animate the public spaces in the area with world-class artworks to be enjoyed by workers, residents and visitors. This initiative brought architects and artists together to work with the Yr. 11 students in site-specific workshops. Students responded to architecture and the public art that was placed in six sites around the City of London this June (artwork is by artists including Michael Craig Martin, Julian Opie and others).
