THAMES Youth Art Cometition
Congratulations to Beatrice Green and Myrtle Bolt for winning the audience vote at THAMES Youth Art Competition for their film titled "I Live Here".
Congratulations also to Jahed Hussain for second runner up in the youth vote at THAMES Youth Art Competition for his photography series "Deliquesce"
Here is what Beattie and Myrtle said about their work:
This film is our interpretation of the theme ‘I live here’.
We love stories; hearing and telling them in every way and we wanted to express how they can consume everything. How you can become so invested in them that you feel like you live there, with the characters. Our main character is an interesting one. She is monotone and boring; a decision made deliberately to create a contrast between her and the vivid stories she so loves. We also liked the comical aspects of such a strange and drifting character. Another more subtle but important aspect of the film was that it was all filmed where we live so that even though we took the theme more broadly you still get a sense of our location. We hope you enjoy watching as much as we enjoyed making!
