Welcome to St Paul's Way Art Department

At St Paul’s Way School, students are encouraged to take a journey of curiosity about art, design and visual media in developing their work, fostering a desire to learn, research and experiment. Art is a vital element of the curriculum, students are taught to explore and experiment with a wide range of artists’ approaches and techniques to encourage their creativity. This approach nurtures visual literacy and critical thinking through exploring the world around them as part of their engagement with project themes.
As part of the curriculum, students explore a range of painting media, textiles, printmaking, mixed media, ceramics, sculpture, photography and digital media art forms.
We have strong links with art galleries and arts organisations across London and locally and have collaborated on many successful cross-arts and cross-curricular projects over the years.
Artist-in-residence projects allow students to develop and refine their skills and interests.

In 2009 OfSTED asked that St Paul's Way be featured in a 'good practice' report: Drawing together: Art, Craft and Design – at the report ceremony we were awarded a certificate for our contribution to the report- ‘Outstanding Art, Craft and Design’ – July 09
An impressive archive of pupils' work, artist in residencies and cross arts projects can be viewed on our Exhibition and Community Arts pages, as well as on our Flickr, Vimeo and Twitter site.
