Middlesex Fine Art Student Workshops with Year 8s
Working with a group of Year 8 Students, Art Student Tahmina Begum has developed her ideas around repetition and recycling to create their own scale model fantasy cities.
The group began by drawing out massive city plan style drawings of their own fantasy Utopian cities with buildings in the shape of jig saw puzzles, fish and ice cream cones complete with water slides and roof top railways. The challenge then came as the groups had to create these fantastic designs into scale models using card. Tahmina led the sessions to help bring these extraordinary and eccentric models to life. The students then fed back to the rest of the year in a talk that explained their design ideas, concepts and through the creation of the models.
