Royal Academy Life Drawing
On Wednesday 22nd June 2011, Gifted and Talented Art and Design students took part in a ‘Royal Academy’ Life Drawing master class with a specialist lecturer from Academy. Ms Hill’s class room was transformed into a drawing studio space, all tables and chairs were removed, therefore leaving students and teachers to work on the floor in a range of scales from the life model. The day gave students the opportunity to expand their drawing skills where they produce fantastic large-scale drawings. The workshops provided an inspirational drawing experience that transformed attitudes to drawing forever. Students found the experience exhilarating and highly enjoyable. The students came out of the session with a real buzz and excitement for what they had learnt and the challenge to pre-conceived ideas about drawing, as they had been opened up to new ways of looking and thinking. Work produced from the session will be on show at the Art Departments end of year show. Well done to all the students who took part!
