YOUNG BRITS AT ART
A National Art Competition for Young People
Organised by the Equality and Human Rights Commission in association with Sheeran Lock.Young people were encouraged to consider what helps to create their individual identity and to express their thoughts and feelings about who they are and what makes them unique in this workls (eg. life events, family, friends, faith, cultural affiliations, special skills and interests, sense of place and belonging.
Young Brits at Art is a National Art Competition for schools to encourage students to express their thoughts and feelings. This year, the theme was linked with the Commission for Racial Equality. The competition was launched in March as part of the CRE's 30th anniversary celebrations. More than 800 young people aged 11 to 16 from schools in England, Scotland and Wales entered the competition. As part of the CRE's commitment to integration, students were asked to draw and paint pictures about how they see themselves in Britain today.
